What is this site?
meshavatarstudio.com is an unofficial tutorial and resource site for Mesh Avatar Studio, a free open-source tool (MIT License) that turns a single illustration into an animated 2D avatar you can drive with your face and voice and stream in OBS.
When a brand-new tool appears, the official README is accurate but dense. This site exists to give new users a gentler path: step-by-step installation, a walkthrough of the avatar-creation workflow, full streaming setup guides, and troubleshooting — written and organized as tutorials rather than reference.
What this site is not
- It is not the official project site. The official repository is github.com/shinshin86/mesh-avatar-studio and the official demo lives at its GitHub Pages.
- It has no affiliation with the project's author.
- It does not redistribute the project's sample character artwork.
How the guides are built
Every guide on this site is based on the project's own documentation — the README, the agent guide, the reference and the format docs — checked against the current release at the time of writing. When the project changes, guides are updated. If you spot an inaccuracy, tell us.
Why a tutorial site for a free tool?
Because discoverability matters for open-source projects, and because the fastest way to learn a tool like this is a well-ordered tutorial, not a 250-line README. If these guides send more users and contributors to the original project, the site has done its job.
